Industrial Filtration FAQ

General guidance for filter bags, cartridges, housings, and air filters. Final recommendations depend on the operating conditions and confirmed product specification.

What information is needed to select a filter?

Please provide the process, dust or liquid characteristics, temperature, chemistry, flow rate, required efficiency, equipment model, dimensions, and current filter construction where available.

Which filter bag materials are available?

Common options include polyester, polypropylene, acrylic, aramid, PPS, fiberglass, P84, and PTFE-based materials. The appropriate material depends on temperature, moisture, chemistry, abrasion, and cleaning method.

Can filter bags be made to custom dimensions?

Yes. Diameter, length, top and bottom construction, seam design, reinforcement, and surface treatment can be customized after the existing bag or equipment dimensions are confirmed.

Which surface treatments can be considered?

Options may include singeing, calendaring, heat setting, water-and-oil repellent treatment, antistatic construction, PTFE coating, and PTFE membrane lamination. Availability and suitability are confirmed for each product.

How is filtration efficiency determined?

Efficiency depends on the media, construction, particle size, dust loading, air-to-cloth ratio, and operating conditions. A specific value should be confirmed from the selected product data or applicable test documentation.

How long do filter bags last?

Service life varies with temperature, chemistry, moisture, abrasion, cleaning settings, installation quality, and maintenance. The operating data should be reviewed before estimating replacement intervals.

Can FiltEdge supply replacement filters for existing equipment?

Replacement products can be evaluated using the equipment model, drawings, samples, or complete dimensions. Compatibility is confirmed before quotation and production.

Are antistatic filter bags required?

Antistatic construction may be required where combustible dust or static-charge risk is present. The system owner should complete the relevant safety assessment and confirm applicable standards.

What quality documents are available?

Available certificates, inspection records, and test reports depend on the material and product. The applicable documentation is confirmed with the quotation.

Are samples available?

Sample availability, cost, freight, and preparation time depend on the product, dimensions, and material. These terms are confirmed for each request.

What is the production lead time?

Lead time is confirmed with the quotation according to specification, quantity, material availability, production schedule, and delivery destination.

Does FiltEdge provide installation or technical support?

Remote guidance and other support options are evaluated according to the product and project scope. Any on-site service must be confirmed separately.
